Free Workshops for Councillors in the East Midlands

Are you a councillor who believes that people should get more involved in their community?

Do you want to keep pace of a rapidly changing policy climate?

Do you want to find better ways of communicating with local residents and involving them in their community?

Do you want to acquire skills and knowledge to be more effective in supporting this community involvement?


The Leading Lights Programme, supported by the East Midlands Empowerment Partnership has a series of free workshops aimed at supporting you to develop skills and strategies whilst working through the Big Society and localism policy maze.

This workshops will be developed and facilitated by Urban Forum. They are a national charity, policy research and membership organisation that supports communities to have a greater say over decisions that affect them.

This workshop focuses on:

  • Trends in government policy and what this means for your community
  • Supporting residents to have more influence in their communities
  • Supporting communities to be more resilient
  • Developing an action plan for better communication and community involvement
  • Assessing your impact

Timings:

This workshop will begin at at 1pm with a free networking lunch and end at 4.30pm.
