This resident-run community centre is a pivotal point of community engagement and empowerment in this former mining town. The colliery employed 90% of the town’s men until it closed in 1970 and the site is now a Country Park. The Community Centre has various rooms and facilities available for hire for community activities.

Nottingham City Council work with Catch 22 at Southglade Park to run this recreation hub for the Top Valley and Bestwood areas of Nottingham. It has two swimming pools, a sports hall, a gym and a sports park containing a high-quality floodlit pitch. The leisure centre and park run classes for people of all ages and abilities.

 lenton The Lenton Centre, Nottingham

Community venture in the Lenton area of Nottingham, owned by the people for the people. Money to buy the building was raised by local community groups after the centre was closed by the city council in 2005. The building was quickly returned to use but the swimming pool needed work and was reopened in 2008.
